About
Having been a keen traveller for a number of years, my interest in the natural and historical world has only grown, driving a desire to document and help preserve the landscapes around us. Through travel and photography, I have been fortunate to experience and capture some of these beautiful places, from towering mountain peaks to delicate coastal light.
Born in London and now based in Leicestershire, my path to photography blends both the creative and the technical. Despite graduating from Manchester with a Bachelor of Arts in History, I spent the next twenty-five years working within IT operations. This technical background provided a seamless transition into the digital photography arena. Today, I am dedicated to managing the entire creative workflow from the precision of capturing the raw moment out in the elements to the art of digital developing, fine art printing, and framing the final piece.

Like any art form, photography is profoundly subjective. As photographers, we make countless intentional choices in composition, light, and mood, with the ultimate goal of reflecting the raw emotion of a scene at that exact moment in time. Yet, capturing the true essence of a grand landscape is a demanding pursuit, and our artistic vision does not always succeed in matching the immense scale of reality.
While everyone's perception and reaction to a photograph will be different, my hope is to evoke an inspirational, positive response to the world we live in—even when chasing a fleeting moment proves elusive.

Shetland
Shetland, also called the Shetland Islands and formerly Zetland, is a subarctic archipelago in the Northern Atlantic between Great Britain, the Faroe Islands and Norway. It is the northernmost part of the United Kingdom. Shetland has long been world famous as a mecca for bird enthusiasts. Hermaness, Noss and Sumburgh Head Nature Reserves host large seabird colonies, including puffins, kittiwakes, fulmars, skuas and razorbills.

Capturing images of wildlife plays a significant role in conservation. Images and footage of wildlife brings accessibility, awareness and education to people all over the world.
The Bengal Eagle Owl
The Bengal Eagle Owl (also called the Indian Eagle Owl and Rock Eagle Owl) is a large horned owl species normally found in rocky and scrub forests in the Indian sub-continent. The image was taken at the Rutland Falconry Owl Centre in Rutland , England. The centre was setup for the conservation, well being and protection of birds of prey.
The Highland
The Highland is a Scottish breed of rustic cattle. It originated in the Scottish Highlands and the Outer Hebrides. With their shaggy coats and sweeping horns they are an intrinsic part of Scottish culture and are famous all over the world. The Highland cattle are a hardy yet docile breed that can withstand the harsh winter conditions in the area. The image was taken on the Isle of Skye.

Macro photography can be very rewarding but can also challenge your patience and ability to the full.

I have photographed a small selection of my exotic shell collection. I find the specimens truly fascinating and beautiful.
Black and White Photography
It has only been recently that I have explored black and white photography. It has definitely challenged my creativity and focused my mind when deciding on a composition or scene. Without the distraction of colour one starts to focus on other fundamental elements like light, shadow, texture and tone. High contrast images can give a sense of drama and urgency while low contrast tones can depict calm, serenity and a specific mood.
Legendary photographers like Ansel Adams championed black and white to master the "decisive moment" and tonal relationships.
