About
Being a keen traveller for a number of years, the natural and historical world around us has always been of great interest to me, and one that we must try to preserve. The world is full of beautiful places and fascinating wildlife. Through travelling and recently photography I have been fortunate enough to see, capture and experience some of these wonders.
Born in London, I am now living in the Leicestershire area. Despite graduating from Manchester University with a Batchelor of Arts in History, I spent the next twenty-five years working in an IT operational environment, which provided a smooth progression into digital photography. I love being able to cover the whole workflow from capturing the moment to developing, printing and framing.

As one knows, as with art, photography is very subjective. A photographer has a particular vision when capturing a scene or subject, which, in some cases maybe unsuccessful. A number of choices are made, for example in composition, light and mood, with the intention to reflect the experience at that time. Obviously, everyone’s perception and reaction can be different, but I do hope in my photography, there is an inspirational and positive response to the world we live in.

Shetland
Shetland, also called the Shetland Islands and formerly Zetland, is a subarctic archipelago in the Northern Atlantic between Great Britain, the Faroe Islands and Norway. It is the northernmost part of the United Kingdom. Shetland has long been world famous as a mecca for bird enthusiasts. Hermaness, Noss and Sumburgh Head Nature Reserves host large seabird colonies, including puffins, kittiwakes, fulmars, skuas and razorbills.

Capturing images of wildlife plays a significant role in conservation. Images and footage of wildlife brings accessibility, awareness and education to people all over the world.
The Bengal Eagle Owl
The Bengal Eagle Owl (also called the Indian Eagle Owl and Rock Eagle Owl) is a large horned owl species normally found in rocky and scrub forests in the Indian sub-continent. The image was taken at the Rutland Falconry Owl Centre in Rutland , England. The centre was setup for the conservation, well being and protection of birds of prey.
The Highland
The Highland is a Scottish breed of rustic cattle. It originated in the Scottish Highlands and the Outer Hebrides. With their shaggy coats and sweeping horns they are an intrinsic part of Scottish culture and are famous all over the world. The Highland cattle are a hardy yet docile breed that can withstand the harsh winter conditions in the area. The image was taken on the Isle of Skye.

Macro photography can be very rewarding but can also challenge your patience and ability to the full.

I have photographed a small selection of my exotic shell collection. I find the specimens truly fascinating and beautiful.
